Having a senior to take care of at home can be a
blessing and sometimes a sacrifice. It is love to a whole new level and it
takes great courage and sacrifice to have one at home but
that should not be the problem, you have all the time to think about it so just
go with the flow and learn how to deal with it as you go along the way.
There
are so many options for you to choose from when it comes to providing them the
best care they would need but let us try to see how it will be applied
considering your status and the type of job you have.
If you
are free and have all the time in the world to assist and take care of your
senior, then it would be best to just let them stay at home and age gracefully
at home. After all, it is during these times that you can show your love and
your full support and one day you will surely receive the same treatment too
when you become just like them. Allowing them to stay at home and be cared for
by you will give your bonding time and will save you a lot of expenses as well
as time. You will be there to assist them in their meals, their diet, and their
therapy or exercise and so on. You will be there for them no matter what.
But if
you are someone who is working, then it would be a problem so your might need
to bring them to a facility or home for the aged. There, you will have not much
time to meet and see them. There, they will be staying with other seniors and
there they would meet other people too. But if this is not one of your option,
then you better go for inhome care, this option is probably one of the bets if
your senior prefers to stay at home and continue aging there. You would just
need to get help from service providers offering inhome care and everything
your senior would need will be provided for. The meals, diet and medications
are among the things they would need help with.
What is
good about inhome care is their comfort as well as their chance to be with you
until they leave this world. You will have a lot of time together, you will be
able to monitor their health and condition and you will also be able to let
them enjoy life being with their love ones. But in choosing, you cannot just
pick one which you think is best, you have to choose wisely by researching and
asking for recommendations as well. While you may have all the time in this
world to do so, still you would need to discuss it with your senior and also
let them know early on so they would have time to make up their minds.
