We have different stages in life as we all know and its starts with being young, young adult, middle age then finally the senior age. Although it is not the correct term, we still can see how life transforms. While we know that we were still young or when we were still infants, our parents are the ones who are taking care of us. They are the ones supporting us in every move, in every meal and in every action we make. That would probably happen too when we get old and when we become seniors. At one point in time, although it might not happen to all, we will someday become old and weak and we will no longer be able to do the things we usually did before. One day, we will also need to be assisted in order to do something necessary such as eating, getting medication, going to the comfort room and other relevant activities.
As we are approaching this stage, we should also be preparing for what is best for us by this time such as choosing the facility where we could stay or choosing home and community care services we can avail of. As a matter of fact, there could be a lot of options, more than what you can ever think of but you as the decision maker should choose wisely in order for you not to regret your decision later on.
Well, at least you need to weigh your options and see their differences before you finally decide on what to choose. If you would like to go for a home for the aged facility, it would be nice as you will be kept safe and rested and well taken care of inside an institution. Of course upon admission, they will need to know your health status and would also learn about your background. They will have to know what kind of assistance you will need and so on. For this option, your family members will not have to worry about you when they will go someplace for a business appointment, work or maybe vacation and other important activities.
For the second option which is to get home and community care, your family members will not have to worry when they are not around because these service providers will be the one to come to you and bring the needed services of your senior love ones. Just like the first stated option, they will need to learn about your health condition and background and they will also have to get advice from you and your family. With this option, you will have all the chance to be with your family at this stage in life, you will have the chance to watch them succeed, to watch your grandchildren grow or to observe every moment of your family’s life as you get older.
Whatever your option is, you always have to be sure and ask your family’s advice.
